Fermentation Workshops

Here's a schedule of our workshops for 2023. Please see details below and sign up.

Miso Workshop

Miso collection

Come join us for this 2.5 hour hands-on miso workshop, where you will not only learn how to make a Japanese essential umami condiment, the traditional soybean miso, but also meet the core ingredient called koji, used in most Japanese (and some Asian) ferments including soy sauce, sake and rice vinegar.

This is why it earned its nickname "drinkable IV drip"! What's even better is it's naturally sweet, so you can use it in place of sugar for cooking and baking.

Traditionally, Amazake is made only with rice, but for this workshop, we will explore different medium as well and compare the tastes! We will make one Amazake dessert and Amazake dressing together.
